Cockroaches in Pod 51

I have stayed at Pod in New York earlier and was expecting decent accommodation. However, my room was infested with cockroaches and it took a lot of calls for me to get the manager to bring a vacuum cleaner to enable me to sleep the night in the room (there was no housekeeping staff at night). The explanation was that it's the tourists who bring the pests in their suitcases to the hotel (but of course, bugs don't exist in the county! ). I was assured that the needful was done only to discover the next day that there were more of the creepy crawlies in the room! Very disappointing for a hotel that markets itself as a cool place in manhattan.

It was very chilled winter It was fine, but need to inform before locking the room. Could not access to my room because the door was locked. They didn't inform me the advance payment system and locked the room well my self was out. This system didn't go well, specially when you are coming back to get relax after tiry work. Rest was fine but room was so small to fit in

The evening shift receptionist was efficient and check in was smooth and hassle free but the morning shift clerk was surly. When I enquired about a date change on my reservations he directed me to reservations who just put me on hold. I got the message and promptly checked out. Good for solo travellers.
