The walk from Gare du Nord to the hotel was pleasant as it was a beautiful sunny day. Upon arrival at the hotel, the receptionist could not find my reservation but was very courteous and made the situation pleasant. The hotel itself is modern art decoration with pleasant colours to the eyes. The single room I got was small, yet very well laid out with just enough space to keep my suitcase on the floor. The view from the window was not great as it was an atrium and I could only see other windows. The bed had a semi soft mattress which was comfortable and sufficient. The bathroom had a bathtub which was somewhat scratched, yet usable. A non alcoholic mini bar, and a safe to keep your valuables were welcome. The rooms are non smoking, and one can come down and smoke outside the entrance of the hotel. As I did not spend any time in the room in the day, it was sufficient for my use. The breakfast room is substantially large for a small hotel in Paris. The breakfast had sufficient choice for everyone. Bread, scrambled eggs, sausages, charcuterie, a cheese platter, coffee and tea, some pastries and croissants and fruit. A small treat of snacks and coffee and syrup drinks was available in the reception area from 1400 till 2200 hours which was nice as one can pick up something to drink when one arrives or leaves. The reception staff were always helpful and available for any query. Excellent location as one can walk to the luxury shopping area on Haussman easily. Metro is easily accessible and a short walk. Overall, a very pleasant and pleasing stay in the Hotel Georges-Astotel. Would surely book again during subsequent trips. Just a small note that the price with taxes which I paid was at least 20% higher than the prices I saw on other reservations at the time of check in.
