Great location, room could do with some improvements

The location was great, walkable to almost everything to see in lisbon. The room itself space wise was great, but the charging points next to the bed are badly placed, there is no place to hang a hand towel in the bathroom and the shower has no shelf to keep shampoo etc. There was no sugar and regular tea provided in the room (tho they said it is available when i asked at the reception, but by then i'd already bought my own. Checkin was a harrowing experience for me. I reached a little after 5pm and the place was locked up. No one answered at the contact number because that rings at the then empty reception. Fortunately after waiting for 40 minutes the hotel's cleaners appeared and they let me in and called the manager and facilitated the checkin. What i learn t is that the hotel sends self checkin instructions but since makemytrip does not seem to have a system which lets the hotel communicate with the guest, i never got the self checkin instructions or the note that reception shuts at 5pm. @makemytrip - if you are the third party facilitating the booking, it is equally your responsibility to ensure that people who book through you do not get stuck in situations like this and that hotels are able to communicate with their guests.
