Review Of RIU Palace Maldives - 24 Hours All Inclusive

Right from the male airport arrival, to domestic transfers, to boat transfers until we reached our palace rooms, everything was arranged on time and qas hasslefree. The cleanliness in the resort was pick and span. Food spread was outstanding. Chefs were very caring. Staff were helpful. Overall a great experience. I would recommend this property

Very good location, food, hygiene

The transfer department did terrible job in transferring us from riu to male, earlier in the day time we were informed that we will be transferred at 11 am in the morning next day, and then on the same day in night after 10 pm our transfers were changed to 5 am in the morning, they didn’t even call us and just a paper was inserted beneath the door, stating that our transfers are changed to 5 am, this was a shock for us when we got a call in the morning at 04:30 am from reception, most pathetic thing was there was not even a single person who could attend this problem of ours, we were harassed at 04:30 am in the morning and forced to leave the place, i never had such kind of stay ever anywhere in any hotel through my life, and the staff on reception was continuously saying that am instructed to do so, and i can’t help it. Most pathetic and disgusting way to attend a guest. Such a horrible experience i will neither forget nor would recommend any of my friend or relative to go to this place ever.

Rui palace is a five-star property and riu atoll which is connected is a four-star property costs less than palace. We have booked the rooms in riu palace hoping for a better stay. Let me first start with the good part about this resort. The location, beaches, water, greenery, interiors (room, dining, lobby, pool, beach bar) are absolutely wonderful. Simple extraordinary. Coming to the things that seriously need to change. Booking a room in riu palace when compared to riu atoll is waste of money. Riu palace doesn’t have an activity centre, so for you to do any activity u need to go to riu atoll which is a very long walk. They don’t even provide any cycles and not enough buggies to take guest from riu palace to riu atoll to do activities / restraunts/bar. The buggies which do run are not frequent enough and if u ask any of the restaurants or bar staff to call for a buggy, they keep saying they don’t have a phone to call the front office to send a buggy. Also, the buggies don’t not come to the rooms as well. They should at least provide tricycles /bicycles. There is no bar in riu palace which runs after 6:00 pm. If u need drinks u needs to go to riu atoll which has a 24hrs bar. For medical centre u need to go to riu atoll. So why would someone who pays more for rooms go all the way to another resort to do activities. Coming to the amenities the room doesn’t not have amenities that should be in a five-star like rubber slippers, bathroom amenities and so on. In terms of food the fruits that they provide are not best quality. They are not ripe enough to be served in the menu. The juices are too watery. The peanuts and walnuts they provide are third grade quality. They smell rusty (stored over their shelf life. The food is not bad but lacks that great taste. The desserts are a total let down in terms of variety and taste. Their drinks collection is very bad. The best scotch u get is red label. They have only one beer that’s tiger. U can’t even buy costly single malts or better beers as they don’t keep them at all. The front office staff need to improve a lot. I didn’t expect wearing a non-removable tag throughout our stay. Its very discomfort-able while sleeping or taking bath. It should be at least be removable. We felt like we are wearing a dog tag. I will not recommend this hotel.

To start with the hotel in terms of cleanliness, design, room interiors, dining area is absolutely great. The staff at the dining especially are very helpful and attentive. The location and beaches are one of the best in the world. Now to the bad parts. Riu palace (so called 5 star )and riu atoll (4 star) are connected properties. So i booked the 5 star hoping it’s better than the other. To my surprise riu palace doesn’t have an activity centre and a bar which serve drinks after 6:00 pm. To use the activity centre or use late bar we have to take a very long walk all the way to riu atoll which is quite far. Riu atoll has more activities, bars, restaurants than riu palace. If u want to rent any water equipment or buy anything in shops, medical centre u have to go to riu atoll. Over and above this they don’t have any cycles or sufficient buggys to take u to and from rooms. So when u pay for 5 star hotel why do u need to go to a 4 star hotel to do anything. Coming to the front office they give u a non removable band on your hand which u need to keep to go around the resort. It’s very discomfort to have it on when u shower or sleep. It’s like a dog tag. Also the amenities in the room are not 5 star. No brushes, shower caps, no moisturisers, no slippers, no sewing kits. They should provide all these to call themselves 5 star. Coming to food the quality of fruits or nuts in the buffet are very cheap quality. The fruits are not ripe or doesn’t taste good. The nuts being provided peanuts and walnuts smell like rust ( i mean stored too long). Don’t know if they intentionally buy third rated quality items for food. Also not impressed buy their overall food quality and to my surprise their highest scotch whiskey is red liable, vodka is smirnoff, beer is tiger. U also don’t have an option to buy better whiskey or beer. My suggestion to them is u need to change the quality of ingredients, quality of fruits, nuts, choice of drinks, room amenities to be called a 5 star. Please add bycycles, more buggies and proper train front office. To my surprise u can’t even call the front office other than from your room. Waste of money by booking at riu palace.

Loved the location food was great. The drinks were awesome. We had sooo much privacy in over water villas. It's truly a paradise on earth.

Location is very beautiful and amazing views can be seen at this property. Just book all inclusive package and enjoy unlimited food and drinks.

I love riu because of all inclusive facility. All staff members are very polite and friendly.

location- location is awesome. food- it was great hygiene and safety standards- each staff member was very polite and maintained the decorum to wear face mask when in restaurants or bars. Everything was great.

I fully enjoyed my holiday with my partner, very peaceful area, good staff and heaven like location.
